Effective date: October 20, 2026
Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Who I Am
This website, mcclannancounseling.com, is operated by Jane McClannan, MA, LPC, McClannan Counseling, 100 Arapahoe Ave, Suite 7, Boulder, CO 80302. You can reach me at jane@mcclannancounseling.com or (720) 707-3831.
What This Policy Covers
This policy covers information collected through this website, including the contact form and basic website analytics. It does not cover the health information I collect and keep as part of your therapy. Once you become a client, your health information is protected under federal law (HIPAA) and Colorado law, and is described in my Notice of Privacy Practices , which you will receive through the secure client portal before your first session. You may also request a copy at any time.
Information I Collect
Information you choose to share. When you use the contact form, email me, or call, I receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and your message. The contact form sends your message to my email inbox.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site collects some technical information when you visit:
Website analytics. I use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used, the general location (city or region), and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. It does not tell me who you are.
Server logs. My website host automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your visit, to keep the site running and secure.
Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google.
Links to other services. Some links, such as the map link to my office or the Brainspotting resources, take you to other websites like Google Maps, brainspotting.com, and Vimeo. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I don’t control what they collect. This website does not use advertising, remarketing, or social media tracking tools.
How I Use Your Information
I use the information I collect to: Respond to your questions and schedule a free consultation, provide services if you decide to become a client, understand how the website is used so I can improve it, keep the website secure and working properly, meet my legal and professional obligations.
How Your Information Is Shared
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information and I do not share it for advertising. I share information only in these limited situations:
Service providers that help run the website and my practice, such as my website host, my email provider, and Google (for analytics and fonts). They may only use the information to provide their services.
When required by law , such as to comply with a court order, or when needed to protect someone’s safety. Contacting me through this website does not by itself create a therapist-client relationship.
Keeping Your Information Safe
I take reasonable steps to protect the information you share, and this website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection. Still, no website, email, or online form is completely secure.
Please keep messages brief. When you first reach out, please share only what’s needed to set up a consultation, such as your name, how to reach you, and a general sense of what you’re looking for. Please don’t include detailed health information, diagnoses, or personal history in the contact form or in email. We can talk about those things privately during your consultation or in session. Once you become a client, sensitive information is exchanged through a secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal.
If You Are in Crisis
This website, the contact form, and email are not monitored around the clock and are not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). In an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
How Long I Keep Information
If you contact me but don’t become a client, I keep your message only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and then delete it within a reasonable time. If you become a client, your records are kept as required by Colorado law and professional standards, as described in my Notice of Privacy Practices. Website analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics retention settings.
Your Choices
Cookies: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
Google Analytics: You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .

Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for adults, including parents and guardians looking for services for their children or teens. I do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website. If you are a parent or guardian looking for help for a child, please contact me yourself rather than having your child use the contact form.
If I learn that a child under 13 has sent personal information through this website without a parent or guardian’s consent, I will delete it. If you believe this has happened, please contact me at jane@mcclannancounseling.com.
